PUBLIC NOTICE JACKSON COUNTY SEEKS WEED COMMISSIONER The Jackson County Board of Supervisors is seeking a part-time Weed Commissioner. In accordance with Chapter 317 of the Code of Iowa, the Weed Commissioner is responsible to see that all weeds within the county that have been identified as noxious or invasive by the current Jackson County Noxious & Invasive Weed Resolution are controlled and destroyed. Applicants must have passed the Iowa Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator Core exam. AND they must have passed the exam for either: a) Category 1A: Agricultural Weed Control OR b) Category 6: Right of Way Pest Control Training for these exams is available from the Iowa State Extension Service, phone 563-652-4923. Interested applicants may pick up an application form in the Jackson County Board of Supervisors office at 201 West Platt, Maquoketa, IA 52060.
