Bellevue REAP's $75,000 for trail « Back to Search Results

BELLEVUE, Iowa – The City of Bellevue has received a $75,000 grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

The grant, part of the department’s Resource Enhancement and Protection program, will help with a project to expand the Felderman Park Trail, connecting the existing City of Bellevue trail system to the Bellevue State Park trail system with a pedestrian bridge over Mill Creek.

Felderman Park is located at the end of South Eighth Street in Bellevue. A walking trail currently forms a loop around the park, running parallel to Mill Creek on the southern edge of the park.

Bellevue received a $300,000 grant from the Iowa Transportation Commission earlier this month for the trail expansion project.

The trail expansion will culminate in 2017 with a bike route from Bellevue to Mines of Spain Recreation Area along U.S. 52, according to a DNR news release. (full article...)
