Three decades as City Clerk

(Bellevue, IA) - It was back in 1984 when Janet Callaghan was chatting with the bellevue City Administrator, Dave Heiar, when she unexpectedly landed a job at City Hall.

Hse had just been laid off of her bookkeeping position with the closing of Goetz Implement and was at city offices paying a bill when Heiar asked her if she was interested in helping out.

Callaghan landed the position, and 31 years later, she's still there...at least she will be through the end of the year - when she will officially retire.

Through six mayors, five city adminstrators, hundreds of city council meetings, dozens of budget and thousands of phone calls, Callaghan has been the rock of Bellevue City hall, proving her commitment and wisdom, as well as displaying loyalt to her community.

"Bellevue has really always been my home, and I have been truly lucky and greateful to have served in this position," (full article...)
