MAQUOKETA, IA – HUSCO International, a global leader in the development and manufacture of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls for off-highway and automotive industries, announced today it will add up to 35 new positions at its Maquoketa facility.
“HUSCO International is committed to continued, strategic growth that will enable us to engineer new product and performance innovations, better serve our customers and solidify our market leadership,” said Josh Smith, Plant Manager of the Maquoketa facility. “Nearly 20 percent of Iowa’s annual GDP comes from manufacturing, which ranks sixth in the nation. HUSCO International is proud to contribute to long-term growth in the state’s manufacturing sector and to create family-supporting jobs that will advance the region’s long-term economic prosperity.”
Launched in 2008, HUSCO’s Iowa facility includes more than 80,000 square feet for off-highway manufacturing and is in close proximity to key Midwest customers. The facility also has an on-site paint line and is International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-certified for quality and environmental systems.
For the past eight years, HUSCO has been a valued employer of the Maquoketa community, providing competitive wages and benefits, on-the-job training, and opportunities for career advancement. As an active corporate citizen in Eastern Iowa, HUSCO’s philanthropic endeavors in the community, include monetary donations to multiple programs and community groups.
“Companies have many location choices. Therefore, I consider it a compliment to Jackson County to have existing industries expand locally,” said David Heiar, Director of the Jackson County Economic Alliance.
“Often times, local expansion get overlooked. If we had a new company moving to the community that planned on hiring 35 new employees, we would all be shouting for joy. I have that same level of excitement when an existing company announces a plan to hire 35 additional employees. There is nothing better than growth from within,” David Heiar added.
HUSCO currently employs over 1400 people globally, including 75 in Iowa.
Open positions include system assemblers, material handlers, paint and shipping technicians as well as manufacturing, quality and information technology engineers. Qualified applicants can apply online at http://www.huscointl.com or for assistance with the application process, call (563) 652-7845.
