The Maquoketa Art Advisory Committee is currently accepting applications for artists interested in developing Maquoketa’s public art installment as part of the Byways of Iowa Public Art Initiative to be located in Maquoketa’s downtown Greenspace.

This Call for Artists is open to all qualified artists or teams thereof 18 years of age and older. Priority will be given to Iowa artists and artists within or with close ties to the City of Maquoketa. Interested artists are required to submit an application form along with a one-page letter of interest, link to an online portfolio or image sheet with examples of their work, proposed budget, up-to-date resume, and a sketch or mock-up of their art proposal.

Applications are due by June 30th, 2017.

Applications will be reviewed by the Maquoketa Artist Selection Committee. The Committee will utilize specific criteria to choose an artist to carry out the project in 2018.
