Interested in an opportunity to serve on a regional board that impacts the prosperity and economic development in your community?

The Region 9 Regional Workforce Development Board is seeking new members representing business and industry.  The Regional Workforce Development Board serves Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Scott Counties.  The board oversees the programs and services offered through IowaWORKS of Eastern Iowa at the one-stop in Davenport, and county locations.  Board members play a key role in ensuring that job seekers and business and industry in the region have access to the tools and information needed to support a strong economy.

Applicants must be current employees of businesses located in Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, or Scott County.  They must also be directly involved in hiring and policy making within their organization.

Paula Arends, IowaWORKS Workforce Innovation Director states, “Business and industry’s involvement in the Regional Workforce Development Board are key to ensuring that workforce programs and dollars are being directed in ways that will impact every aspect of our local economy.  We need business and industry at the table to ensure that we are continually focused on current and future needs.”

The Region 9 Board meets on the first Tuesdays of August, October, December, February, April, and June at the West Davenport Center, 2950 Fairmount, Davenport from 4:30 to 6 p.m.  Members are also welcome to call in for meetings as needed.
