BELLEVUE, Iowa — Iowa Transportation Commission members today approved a $300,000 grant to help extend a walking trail at Bellevue’s Felderman Park.
The park is located at the end of South Eighth Street in Bellevue. A walking trail currently forms a loop around the park, running parallel to Mill Creek on the southern edge of the park.
“We will be purchasing more land from the Felderman family to extend the trail to the east,” said City Clerk Abbey Skrivseth.
Work will begin next year to extend the trail to nearby Bellevue State Park with the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Mill Creek.
“Eventually, we would like to connect it to our River View Trail,” Skrivseth said.
