State-agency-led meeting will focus on Maquoketa's downtown

An upcoming event will focus on reviatlizing Maquoketa's downtown.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority's Downtown Resource Center will host a downtown forum on June 13 at the Maquoketa Art Experience/Maquoketa Chamber of Commerce building (124 S. Main St). It is a part of a series of such events the agency is holding in municipalities in different parts of the state.
The free event aims to "bring together community leaders interested in engaging in a discussion about their downtowns," according to a press release.
"The focus will be on downtown business development issues such as energizing entrepreneurs, business development and business succession," the release states.
